Please make sure you have a jumper, blue and white shorts and socks. Game Day Apparel is Macleod Polo or Hoodie or Rugby Top. If you need any apparel, please contact your team manager or Andrew Smythe on 0411 529 815.

A Week at MFNC:

  • Tuesday Night – 6pm Training for All Players
  • Thursday Night – 6pm Training for All Players
    • Meals available after training while waiting for the teams to be read out.
    • This is put on by volunteers at the club for $15 per meal.
  • Saturday – Game Day – U19 Arrive – 8.45am, Reserves – 10.45am, Seniors – 12.15pm

Match Day Attire:

*Match day player attire is MFNC polo shirt, shorts (not including board or football shorts) MFNC Tracksuit pants or neat pants. 

Player Help:

As a player, you can assist the committee and other volunteers by undertaking various duties. Players are requested to contribute in the following ways:

  1. On Game Day if a player is injured, please come to the game and help out in any way you can. See the relevant Team Manager or Coach.
  2. Bring a bag of lollies/snakes for use on game day.
    We will be collecting lollies on the FIRST HOME GAME (ROUND 2). Everyone is to bring a bag to add to the collection. This is for all teams, so we have supply for all to share.
  3. Assist to sweep out rooms on Thursday night after training. This will ensure the clubrooms will be looking good for each team on game day when the clubrooms are used the most.
  4. Help clean out the rooms and empty all bins in training rooms after the match once players have finished as the junior club will be using all room on the following day.


Players Mission Statement:

*To make every possible effort to prepare myself to perform at the highest possible level on a consistent basis.

*To represent the MFNC on and off the field in a manner which encourages all members of the community to proudly play with, volunteer, and support the club.

Players Code of Conduct:

Players of the Macleod Football Netball Club are expected to adhere to the following general rules and instructions as laid down by the committee:

*Players are expected to attend training twice weekly and on other occasions as requested by the coaching staff.

* When training attendance is not possible players must notify the coaching staff or the football manager prior to the commencement of training. Non-attendance at training without notification may affect selection.

* When injured, players must obtain necessary and appropriate medical treatment.

* Membership payment is compulsory. Payments can be made in instalments by arrangement with the treasurer or membership manager (Richard Crockford).

* Senior players are expected to attend the social rooms after matches at home and away games. Approved MFNC match day attire must be worn. 

* Players must attend club compulsory functions as nominated by the committee. 

* Contracted players who fail to honour their obligations to attend compulsory functions or fundraisers will have funds deducted from their match payments to the value of the cost of the ticket to the event. 

* Players are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner on the field, at club facilities and during all situations where they are representing or appear to be representing the club, Failure to do so may result in disciplinary actions such as suspensions, demotion, fines or dismissal.


Insurance:

The club holds low level insurance cover through the NFNL to assist players receive treatment for injuries sustained whilst training or playing. The club highly recommends that players obtain personal health insurance and for self-employed players, income protection insurance to assist financially when injured.

Macleod Junior Football Club:

* Macleod Football Netball Club affiliated with Macleod Junior Football Club in 1994.  The junior headquarters, Macleod Park will not be available in 2024 due to construction works.

*The Junior Club will train during the week and games will be played on Sundays at De Winton Park throughout the season.

*Macleod Auskick, coordinated by committeeman Tom Barca will have two sessions per week, Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

*Players are encouraged to offer assistance at junior training & Auskick sessions

Annual Club Awards 

* Tom Melican Medal- awarded to the senior best and fairest winner. Tom gave twenty years of excellent on-field service winning six senior best and fairest.

* Barry Were Medal- awarded to the reserves best and fairest winner. Barry passed away in 2015 after more than a decade of dedicated service including the role of reserves team manager.

* Bruce McDonald Medal- awarded to the under 19's best and fairest winner. Between Macleod Junior and Macleod senior clubs Bruce has given over 40 years of service in roles such as a coach, fundraiser and signwriter.

* Robert Addison Memorial Plaque- most courageous award. Given to a player who is selfless and prepared to accept every challenge. Robert was a respected player in the 1970's who died in a tragic car accident.1973 reserves premiership player.

* Coaches Award- bestowed on the player who in the opinion of the coaches strived to follow instructions and performed at the highest level possible due to maximum effort and preparation.

* Norm Davies Memorial Trophy- awarded to the person who in the opinion of the committee provided outstanding volunteer service during the season. Norm and his wife Pat were dedicated volunteers in the 1970's & 80's serving as team managers.

* S. K. 'Peter' Pearn scholarship- under 19's player who was the winner of the previous year’s colts best and fairest. Valued up to $1,000
